What to prepare for a PCBA project review
Send the information you already have and identify any gaps. The required document set depends on your design, assembly scope and testing needs.
01 / BOM & sourcing
Manufacturer part numbers, quantities, reference designators, approved alternatives and any customer-supplied parts.
02 / Board & assembly files
Gerber files, fabrication and assembly drawings, and pick-and-place data where available. Include revision numbers.
03 / Build quantities
Prototype, pilot and expected production quantities, plus your target dates. Timing is reviewed against the project requirements.
04 / Programming & testing
Firmware, programming instructions, functional test procedures and acceptance criteria, including existing fixture information.
05 / Environment & integration
Operating conditions, enclosure constraints, connectors, coating requirements and the intended market where relevant.
06 / Commercial scope
Specify sourcing responsibilities, packaging and delivery needs, required records, and any tooling or test-development work to discuss.
Download the project brief & BOM template
A bilingual Excel workbook with project details and a BOM sheet. Complete one workbook for each board; manufacturing, testing and timing are reviewed for the specific project.
If an NDA is needed before you share design files, mention it in your initial message so the confidentiality arrangements can be discussed first.
